Picked up my 80 just over a year ago, took it on a shakedown to Big Bear the day after I brought it home. A few trips later, I ended up cracking the head of the old 3fe motor. It sat in my garage for 5 months before I decided to bring her back to life. After a complete top end rebuild with all new parts, it was time for its first test drive. On that day, a quiet Sunday I took the family to the poppy fields only to become involved in an unfortunate accident that ruined my baby. This is where the transformation began. I limped it back home and began working again! Decided it was time for a new look, which turned out to be a liner project. I was wary having never painted anything significant in my life. As a certified Toyota technician, I was determined to come back strong. Many hours of prep work and guidance from my dad all the way back in Barbados, I gave I my best. Quarantine seemed to be a blessing for me as I finished a ton of projects. The truck is still not finished but she’s a lot closer to where she needs to be.
