Dirt World is a public park on the Richmond Greenway. It was built with the support and blessing of the City of Richmond, as well as the help of many community organizations, including Groundwork Richmond, Friends of the Richmond Greenway, the Watershed Project, Bicycle Trails Council of the East Bay, and Bay Area BMXers. The park opened on July 13, 2018 and have since welcomed hundreds of riders of all ages and abilities. Your donation will go to planting more trees, installing permanent signage, building a plaza with seating, putting in more garbage cans, etc.
Flood the Streets with Bikes is a kids program by Bay Area Bikes! They into neighborhoods where many people won’t go, in order to reach kids that have not been exposed to bicycles, but that deserve the same opportunities as anyone else! Since we started this campaign in January 2018, we’ve already been able to expand our program and now need to raise money for additional bikes, helmets, and safety gear. Their goal is to add an additional 120 bikes to our fleet so that we can truly expand our program. Each bike, helmet, and set of safety pads costs a total of $253. Additional funds are need for transportation, storage, tune-ups, etc. This would allow us to provide tons of opportunities for kids over the summer and well into the next school year. Any additional funds raised will go towards expanding the program even further.
If you can’t make the Adventure Swap, drop an email to info@dirtworld.org to get involved or learn how to donate to the park and you can also donate to Flood the Streets with Bikes Go Fund Me Page .
