.::What: In conjunction with rideSFO, the Sweetlines Sugar Jam will focus on fundamentals and advancing knowledge for any rider to improve jumping skills. It will center around jumping, form, style, amplitude, and tricks. Pro riders Kat Sweet and Meg Valliant will help you confidently catch air! Join us and be part of this community of shred!
 
Women = FTW/GQ
 
New jumpers will work on the basics of jumping. Intermediate jumpers and advanced jumpers will have an open format with feedback and pointers from coaches. If you don’t want any coaching, just come jump with us!
 
This is a super fun format to showcase skills. Amateurs will ride together and get prizes for best form, style, and amplitude. Pros will get prizes for style, amplitude, best trick, creativity, etc.

  • Mountain Bike:
    • Do an A, B, C, Quick Check
    • A = Air – 20 PSI
    • B = Brakes – hand brakes (no coaster brakes, back pedaling brakes), be sure brakes work
    • C = Chain – should be lubed once a week to prevent rusting
    • Quick = Quick Releases – snug
    • No kick stands (dangerous for riding trails)
  • Helmet:
    • Must be a CPSC certified bike helmet
  • Flat Pedals:
    • no clipless pedals please
  • Shoes
    • Closed-toed, flat soled shoes
    • Five Ten or Skate style work better than running shoes
  •  Protection:
    • Knee and elbow pads
    • Gloves are mandatory
    • Sunscreen
  • Hydration:
    • Water
    • Electrolyte drink recommended
    • A small hydration pack or water bottle recommended
  • Backpack:
    • To carry supplies
    • Inner tube, patch kit, pump, tools, etc
  • Medical (as needed)
    • EPI pen – must be carried by rider at all times
    • Inhaler – must be carried by rider at all times
